SteelDogs Defeated as MK Dominant 6-2

A game that started brightly for the SteelDogs with the first 2 minutes spent in the offensive zone creating chances but not managing to bag themselves a goal. A lucky bounce off someone’s leg propelled the puck forward for Mk’s first real chance of the game. A good pad save by Crowe kept them out but Mk were first to the rebound and buried the puck to take an early lead.
Mk spent most of the first period pinning the Dogs in their own defensive zone , with the Dog’s defence struggling at times to clear their zone. Even so the Dog’s still created 3 decent chances but failed to convert any of them. A late melee around the Dog’s net saw Mk add to their lead into the break leading 2-0.

The second period started with hope that the Dogs could get back into the game which soon after they did with a well worked power play goal from hallfors. The joy didn’t last long as Mk skated down the ice and immediately restored their 2 goal lead.
Things went from bad to worse with Mk adding a further 2 goals in the second period. It was a very lack  lustre performance from the Dog’s in the second period.

The third started with the Dog’s having a bit of fight in them. Jack Brammer showed the fighting spirit when dropping the gloves with Mk’s Hammil. Even though Jack gave him the first 3 punches, Jack got going and put Hammil on his backside in the end. Jack’s hand was raised in victory as they skated off to the penalty boxes for a well deserved 5 minutes sit down. The Dog’s added a further power play goal with a bullet of a shot from wonder signs Walker Sommer.  A further power play goal for Mk saw  the game finish with Mk running out comfortable winners 6-2 which probably did flatter them to be fair.
Mk look like they really could be a better bet for the title than Leeds this season.

A disappointing result for the Dogs with plenty to work on in training this coming week.
