Brammer Returns with New Role

The Steeldogs roster continues to grow for the exciting 2024-25 season, and today Ben Morgan confirmed another important and exciting signing in the return of forward Jack Brammer.

Aged just 21, but this will be Brammer’s 5th season with the Dogs having already made 178 appearances for his hometown club. The youngster has also been confirmed as one of the Dogs assistant captains for the forthcoming season.

Brammer was delighted to be returning saying “when Morgs messaged me, it was a no-brainer to come back. Knowing how Morgs feels about this club, and how tough last season was for us all, we just want to bring back the winning ways and compete to hopefully bring back silverware to Sheffield”.

On the issue of the assistant captain’s role Brammer continued “It was a shock when Morgs asked me to be an Assistant Captain, but it’ll be a privilege to play with that letter on my shirt. Being here for 6 seasons now, I think it’s true to say I’m no longer a young lad in this group.

“I’ve had some amazing role models over the past few Seasons, with the likes of Lewis Bell, Tim Smith and Matt Bissonnette; hopefully I can fill their boots and lead in the same way that they did”.

After completing another important piece of the Dog’s jigsaw Coach Morgan said “Steeldogs fans will have followed Brammer’s journey over the last four years and while still only at the age of 21, he continues to mature and develop at a rate which we are all excited about.

“Making Bram’s an assistant captain is a testament to him, his family and what we stand for as a club. The next generation of players should now look to this appointment and see genuine room for development within our own pathway.

“We have big plans for Bram’s this season and beyond and are confident he can continue to grow into the established NIHL player he strives to be”.
