Sheffield Steeldogs claim the victory with a 3-2 win at home against Milton Keynes Lightning and show redemption after 7-0 loss yesterday.
The first period began with a close battle on the ice between both sides and they displayed high intensity.
The Steeldogs opened the scoreline halfway through the opening period on powerplay with an assist from Jonathan Phillips which was then finished cleanly by the American Walker Sommer.
A change of netminder was made by the Steeldogs as they introduced Curtis Warburton to replace Ben Norton after a clash at the net.
MK Lightning took the second period by storm as they made the scoreline level with an assist from the Canadian Jordan Spadafore and then finished by Milique Martelly.
The impressive response from the Steeldogs was instant as they took the lead once again. Sam Tremblay secured the assist, and Finlay Ulrick slotted the puck into the top corner.
The Steeldogs started the final period on the powerplay after MK Lightning’s number five, Spadafore, was penalised for tripping.
Dominance from the home side continued as Sommer claimed the assist early in the third period and it was drilled into the net by Phillips to make the score 3-1.
Phillips and Sommer impacted the game positively as they both earned a goal and an assist each for the Steeldogs.
MK Lightning battled hard to try and come back into the game with a late goal scored by Ross Venus and assisted by Spadafore, but it was not enough to take the victory away from the Steeldogs.
