TURNER EXCITED FOR SEASON TO START

The development of Ollie Turner continues as it is confirmed he will once again be a member of the Sheffield Steeldogs for season 2024-25

It will be the third straight season for Turner with the Steeldogs. Despite starting his hockey journey in a village south of Sheffield, his arrival in the Steel City has seen the start of a blossoming career with progression through the ranks of the Sheffield Stormers, Lancers, Steelhawks, Titans and Scimitars before making his Steeldogs debut in the 22-23 season where he played 41 league and 3 play off games.

Playing 49 games last season, Turner has become a regular cog in the Steeldogs wheel, something head coach Ben Morgan recognises “In Turns we have a real prospect for the future. Turns has great size, strength and physical conditioning which will no doubt serve as his fundamental qualities over the next couple of years.

“Our job now is to ensure Ollie Turner is integrated into the team over the course of season and allow him to pick up good habits and traits from his fellow D-core”.

Once asked, there was no doubt that Turner would accept a third year at ICE Sheffield “When Morgs asked me about re-signing there was no doubt in my mind that it would be anything but a smart decision to rejoin steeldogs for the 24/25 season.

“Looking at the team so far makes me confident that we will be successful this season and have a chance at competing with the top teams. I’m very exited for the season to start so I can get back to playing with the team and learning from all of the older players that want to help me develop my game”.
