“Brady Doxey has been a mainstay and consistent performer since 2017 and this season we expect to see his game and leadership qualities continue to grow.
“Doxey is well respected by his teammates and because of his attitude to the game, the club and his peers, has been rewarded as we proudly announce he will be our second assistant captain.
“The guy who always puts the team’s needs before his own, and someone who will flourish under his new leadership role this season”.
An excited Doxey confirmed his return saying “I’m very excited to be back with the dogs for another year and can’t wait to get the season started.
“Morgs brought me into the team when I was 17, so I’m looking forward to be playing under him once again. It’s a new team with many new faces and I’m looking forward to building as a group and creating a new identity for the Steeldogs”.
With regards to being awarded an “A” Brady continued “It’s an honour to be given the “A” for this season. I will give everything I’ve got to fill that role and lead by example, especially for the younger players moving up, as this will give them something to work towards”.
