The Sheffield Steeldogs are delighted to welcome Morgan Clarke-Pizzo to the club after he agreed a contract with Ben Morgan to join the club this coming season.
Clarke-Pizzo, son of former GB International David Clarke, was a product of first the Peterborough and then Nottingham junior development programme before he headed to the States in 2016 to join the Ontario Hockey Academy .
Morgan remained State side until returning for the Elite Series in 2021, then signing a two way deal with the Panthers, Milton Keynes and Peterborough.
In 2022-23 Clarke played between the Bristol Pitbulls and the Guildford Flames before injury meant him missing last season
Confirming his return to the game Morgan said “I’m healthy, energised and have missed the game so much, it’s a huge part of me.
“I’m excited for this opportunity and to be joining such a good organization which is run so professionally.
“Having spoken with Ben and Tony I was so pleased with the decision to join the Dogs now at such an exciting time, we have lots of young talent on the team all wanting to push on and progress”
Steeldogs head coach Ben Morgan said “Bringing players back home which we’ve announced so far this summer has been great for the club. What’s also important as we enter a crucial transitional period is bringing in fresh faces too.
“With Morgan, we have the opportunity to work with a young, vibrant and exciting talent who I’m sure will look to carry on his promising form he showed last season in the NIHL.
“Morgan’s style of play will compliment that of our team’s, ensuring we have energy in wide areas and taking the game to the opposition.
“I’m sure everyone at the club will be excited to see Morgan in a Steeldogs jersey this season.
