Sheffield had Norton , Crowe and Nordstrom return to the line up, with Smith and Ulrick missing out.
Sheffield were hoping to turnaround the result from last Saturday in Telford. But Telford got themselves on the scoreboard first with a shot that pinged in off the post to beat Norton.
Sheffield put themselves under more pressure with a delay of game penalty to give Telford the one man advantage. A missed penalty call on Telford gave them the opportunity to double their lead which they duly took. A melee erupted in front of the net with one player being penalised from each team. Even though both teams had chances the first period ended without troubling the scoreboard any further.
There was a change of shirts by Sheffield at the start of the second period. This certainly seemed to work with Sheffield scoring on 20:52 after some great work by Nordstrom to set Hallfors up with a tap in. Unfortunately the joy was short lived, with Telford passing the puck around the Sheffield zone with ease before bagging their third of the night. Just over a minute later and Telford were on the scoreboard again with their fourth of the evening. Goal 5 for Telford followed after a great penalty kill from Sheffield, but they couldn’t keep Telford at bay after returning to 5 skaters. The second period ended without troubling Telford’s 5-1 lead.
The third period saw Nordstrom score to make it 5-2 before Telford grabbed their sixth of the evening. Sheffield tried pushing on and Doxy got in on the act grabbing a goal , with Hallfors getting a power play goal to make the game a bit more interesting and reducing the deficit to 2. Sheffield kept pushing forward and looked the better team in the third. Unfortunately Telford stood firm and even grabbed themselves an empty net goal in the last second of the game to win comfortably in the end 7-4. Sheffield need to find some form with the run in to Coventry upon us.
MOM: Halfors for Sheffield but a special mention to Nordstrom with a 4 point evening. Henderson took the beers for Telford with four goals and a assist to give him a 5 point evening.
