It won’t just be the Sheffield Steelers having two way players aiding their development next season.
The Sheffield Steeldogs today confirmed two-way agreements with both Aiden Dancer and Daragh Spawforth.
“This is all part of the Sheffield pathway” said head coach Ben Morgan “we will have two-way players moving up and down with us all season as we try and develop more home-grown talent”
Daragh will be a busy young man as he embarks on a three-way agreement between Bradford, Blackburn and the Steeldogs
“In Daragh we have what we believe to be a real talent. Daragh has skated with us for a year or so and despite his young age has shown us maturity to his game beyond his years.
“Whilst we’re passionate about developing players within our own academy and beyond, the opportunity to continue working with Daragh and track his progress as he plays NIHL2 and 1 with Bradford and Blackburn reflectively was one we were not going to miss out on”.
Aiden Dancer will have a shorter distance to travel as he applies his time with Sheffield Scimitars at ICE Sheffield
“This is a great deal for Aiden to take full advantage of this season. Having already experienced the team and the league last season; we’re now looking for Aiden show what he can do in NIHL1 with added ice time and responsibility with the Scimitars alongside consistent training with us and games when his NIHL1 fixtures allow.
“Aiden has great size and strength for his age and is certainly another one for the future at our club”.
